Winters’ Day In
Conversations on life, faith, stories, and creativity from author Talena Winters.
Pour a cuppa and stay awhile.

Sowing New Creative Seeds
Notes on the “in-between” stages of creative work and how I’m planning to tackle my upcoming projects to publish more frequently and keep my creativity fresh.

You Do You, Boo (And I’ll Keep Making Weird AI Art)
Everyone needs something they do that feeds their soul without worrying if it’s “good enough.” And if the trolls don’t approve, just remember—they’re the ones who are missing out. Keep doing the thing. Keep making the art. Keep playing and being creative and having fun. Ditch the perfection and hold onto the joy for dear life. That’s what creativity is for.

Finding My Voice in the AI Wars
I’m tired of letting the bullies win. So this is my big third-act speech. (That I hope is actually in the first act.)

Some weeks, we crawl instead of walk
I felt slower than usual this week, but still ended up with some cool things for my readers and knitting customers. And I got to be social, too.

Getting Unstuck
A day at a time, the log jam is loosening and the ideas are flowing. The sun is coming back, energy is returning, and I am pulling myself blinking from the retreat of hibernation. For my own mental and emotional health, this year needs to be less about driving myself and more about reducing commitments, taking care of myself, and finding my passion again. It needs to be about healing.

Photo Friday: Grateful for New Beginnings
I hit a milestone this week. Have you had any milestones towards your goal lately?

Photo Friday: Kitchen Discoveries
For me, the kitchen is the most special room in the house. It's a place for adventure - not drudgery, but discovery, sharing and showing off with friends, trying new ideas.

The Cost of Talent
I am a strong believer in being the best person you can be. Not in some humanist, "you-aren't-living-unless-you-achieve-your-full-potential" way. But in an "I'm-grateful-for-the-person-I-am" way.
Are you grateful for the talents you have?

Creativity Is For Copycats
Many of us pride ourselves on being creative—but how original is creativity, anyway?
