Medicine for the Soul*

I would be most content if my children grew up to be the kind of people who think decorating consists mostly of building enough bookshelves. ~Anna Quindlen, "Enough Bookshelves," New York Times, 7 August 1991
Books are not made for furniture, but there is nothing else that so beautifully furnishes a house.  ~Henry Ward Beecher
Since some kind of nasty cold bug has hit most of the family (except me, fortunately! Praying it stays that way!!) for the last week, I've been seeing a lot of this:

We only have one "Calvin and Hobbes" book in the house right now (the rest are in the Sea Can), and I think  Noah has just about got the whole thing memorized! There are worse things, I guess--Calvin can't add 2+2, but he's got the vocabulary of a college graduate! :-)

Jason's been going to work this week, but I'm still seeing a little of this when he gets home:

I really really hope he gets better soon!

(My lips are tired of the Kissing Fast! *wink* Guess we're all getting a little extra reading in these days!)

Just found this "book" quote. It made me laugh out loud.
Always read something that will make you look good if you die in the middle of it.  ~P.J. O'Rourke
