Sunny Days
"Sunny Days chasing the clouds away
On my way to where the air is sweet!
Can you tell me how to get,
How to get to Sesame Street?"
That's the tune going through my head as I type this. One of the gifts Noah received for his birthday was Ernie's "1-2-3 Count With Me". Reminds me of being a kid. Not too many childrens' programs survived the last 25 years, but SS is there for the long haul, apparently. Nice to see that some things don't change. Much.
The whole family is feeling much better now. Monday and Tuesday were pretty much write-offs, but yesterday things got back more to normal--I still had to clean up from the party on Sunday, plus two days of blob-hood, though! Anyway, today I got to watch Serena's kids for the morning, and we had a blast. It had actually rained (!) last night, then turned into a wet, slushy snow, which made for interesting times playing outside today. All the kids came in soaked.
Jason, who had to drive to Red Earth for a service call at work today (a two-hour trek one way) said the roads were really bad, as is to be expected when it rains and then snows on March 8th. I guess they got a lot more snow out there than we did, too. Not sure what the temperature was out there, but here it hovered around zero Celsius most of the day.
Jason is out playing basketball tonight--his second week in a row. He just found out about this basketball night, and I think he is really enjoying the opportunity to get out and get active, as well as get to know some of the other guys in the community. He originally wanted to join the squash league, but apparently it was full.
Only 8 more sleeps until Scrap Away! Scrap Away is an overnight scrapbooking girlsfest at the Baptist Church that I am going to--I can hardly wait! I have wanted to do a scrapbooking retreat for as long as it's been my addiction, but we could either not afford it, or it just didn't work out for Jason to watch the kids, or I was expecting a baby any day! Now, NOW I get to DO one! I will still be bringing a breastfeeding baby, but I expect that I shall get a fair amount of "work" done, anyway!
Speaking of said baby, my 3 1/2 month-old Jabin is TEETHING!! He's got a little eye-tooth trying to poke it's way through. None of my kids have started teething this early before--first time I've had to deal with a child biting me all the time! (At least while I'm feeding him! Noah has biting issues, but he never got the chance to bite me THERE!) He's had a few rough days recently, so I'm glad I at least know why, now. However, it doesn't make it any less wearing for a baby to be crying all day even if you know why!
Cute Kid Corner:
Noah's favourite thing to say right now: "Yum, yum, yum, yum, yum! Delisioso!" (from Dora The Explorer. Except it sounds more like: "mumumumumum! Eye-ah!")
How Jude says "pretty sleepy": "peeyee peepy." Still pronounces his own name "Boo" or "Bude". We haven't been able to get him to change that yet, although his pronunciation is improving dramatically on a lot of words. We have been working with him a lot, as it is frustrating for him, us, and the kids he plays with that he can't make himself understood. He is finally starting to refer to himself in the first person more often, but usually says "My" instead of "I'm" (which goes back to his tendency to put the consonants at the end of words at the front of words beginning with vowels.) e.g. "Mommy, look what my doing!"
Jude LOVES our new "Minnesota Cuke" movie! I think we've got an Indiana Jones fan in the making!
